" the little store with so much more "
Welcome to Runaway Tide General Store...located in the heart of downtown Berlin. As you walk in to the store you immediately are taken back to the days of yore. From the rustic floors to the old tin ceiling and wagon wheel, memories are flowing of the old general stores we grew up visiting.
The concept of Runaway Tide General Store was developed by Berlin native and Real Estate Broker, Jenny Sheppard after the space next to her real estate office, Sheppard Realty, Inc. became available for the first time in 26 years. The space was previously occupied by Lisa Kolarik and was called The Hair Shop or as most of you will remember it as "The Curl Up & Dye" where parts of the movie, Runaway Bride was filmed. Sheppard wanted to keep the space associated with the movie even though it has been completely transformed inside to resemble an old corner store that looks 100's of years old and is filled to the brim with jellies, relishes, gifts, bottled coca-cola , convenience item and yes of course the old penny nostalgic candies we all remember.
The "little store with so much more" wants to become Berlin's go to store for any and all items...with the slogan..."if you don't see it , ask us, it's probably here"
